Ringneck Pheasant

This fowl spend much of their time on the ground scratching for food and can fly at a great speed for short distances. They adapt very readily to the wild. Their meat is very good. They are considered full mature at 23 wks.

There are many varieties of Ornamental Pheasants with the Red Golden Pheasant being the most popular with the Silver Pheasant and the Lady Amherst being next. Male pheasants do crow similar to chicken roosters. Pheasants are kept in pairs rather than one cock for more than one hen. If you have more than one male in a pen they will fight over the hen. Males will generally start to show their colors at about 24 wks of age.
